Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of May 17, 2020
From Our Principal
Greetings all!
Here we go, heading into the Memorial Day weekend. Virtual or not, this year has flown by! We are in the home stretch! June is almost here! As you know a letter has been put out to the parents and students with a timeline of what’s going on until the last day of school, June 18th. You can also find it here in the link below.
Students will be coming into the building next week to clean out their lockers. We are not collecting their classroom books at this time and the chrome book collection will happen after we finish the academic year, probably July. If students ask, you can certainly encourage the returning of any library books they may still have as well as any athletic or musical equipment which they have not yet turned in. Please ask the students to tag the item(s) with their name, grade, and ID#.
I keep hearing great things about the high school teachers, and I am not surprised. We have an incredible staff. Given this crazy time you have been able to do extraordinary things with your students. People have noticed and they appreciate your time and dedication to our students.
Thanks for attending the faculty meeting this past Wednesday. It was great to see you all and I think the two separate times worked out great! We will be having one more faculty meeting in June as we finish up the year. Make sure you are looking at social media each day to see the amazing shout outs to the seniors from our coaches, clubs and academies. I am glad we have found a way to acknowledge the students. Also, check out the press of Atlantic City and you will find three of the “2020 Press of Atlantic City Young Leaders" are soon to be Egg Harbor Township High School graduates! How exciting! You can find the link to the article further down in the Weekly Newsletter.
Remember to check social media on Wednesday May 27th to see all of your students who have worked hard this year and accomplished the feat of being recognized as a Varsity Scholar.
As always, thanks for the hard work you all do! Have an awesome Memorial Day weekend. Don’t forget we are off on Monday! Keep smiling and when great things are going on please share. We miss you all!
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Patty

Good Luck AP Environmental Students
Mrs. Delaney’s AP Environmental Science classes took their AP exam on Monday, May 18th online and at home . These students have worked hard all year and were ready for the exam. The pictures below are from field trips taken at the beginning of the year to the Nature Reserve and to the ACUA ( with stops at the landfill , the recycling center and the water treatment facility). The students are disappointed that they are unable to take their annual end of the year trip with the AP Biology classes ( who are also taking their exam!) but the whole school stands proud of these bright young scholars who will make their mark on the world .

National German Exam Levels 1, 2 ,3, 4 Awards
The National German Exam is a given by teachers of German throughout the USA and Canada. It is written by German teachers for German classes and standards based. It ranks the students' learning and achievement against the other German students in their geographic area of North America. Students may take a leveled exam all 4 years of their German courses.
Our Level 1 students achieved a Gold Award (and tops in Southern NJ), a Silver Award, 5 Bronze Awards, and 7 Achievement Awards.
This year, students took the Level 1 exam from home while Herr Guenther monitored the live exams via Google Classroom. The Presentation shows who the students are, how they are ranked, and the certificates they will receive.
We have the Number 1 Gold Award Senior Level 4 in Southern NJ, 2 Gold Award Juniors Level 3, 1 Silver Award Senior Level 4, and 5 Achievements in Levels 2 and 3. Each year's level of the exam is progressively more difficult.
