Big picture

Penny Wars!!!

This year for Penny Wars, the classes will be divided into 2 teams... Team Vinson vs. Team Correll. The top 5 classes will be invited to attend a MAGIC SHOW in the gym where the losing principal, will take part in a magic trick!! Will they disappear??? Will they be cut in half??? Bring in pennies for your class, so you can see!!

Why Read Aloud??

Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing, and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading.

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Daytime Emmy®-nominated and award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online®, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Readers include Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, Viola Davis, Terry Crews, Connie Britton, John Lithgow, Jennifer Garner, Betty White, and dozens more.
