Accountants prepare and examine financial records. They ensure that financial records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time. Accountants assess financial operations and work to help ensure that organizations run efficiently.
Work environment and how to become at accountant
Most accountants work full time. In 2012, about 1 in 5 worked more than 40 hours per week. Longer hours are typical at certain times of the year, such as at the end of the budget year or during tax season.Most employers require a candidate to have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. Certification within a specific field of accounting improves job prospects. For example, many accountants become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
Educational Requirements and Training
To become an Accountant you need to at least have your Bachelors Degree. And there is no special training required and there is no on the job training either.
Salary and Personal skills
The average accountant earns about $63,550. In order to be a good accountant you need to be good with numbers and how to budget spending money.They also have to be honest, show integrity, have to be computer literate, and have an understanding of a spreadsheet.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Employment of accountants and auditors is projected to grow 13 percent from 2012 to 2022.Employment growth of accountants and auditors is expected to be closely tied to the health of the overall economy.You can use accounting as a gateway into areas of interest. Being a accountant means that you have deadlines to complete your work. Sometimes the decisions aren't easy and you might have to confront others. It also includes standing up to others, Supporting your opinions, and standing form when your opinions differ.
Outlook Of Accountanting
Accounting requires at least a bachelors degree, many accountants also have their Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), you have to be good with numbers, you have to have presenting skills and people skills. Accounting can also open up other career options like the Fashion industry, Sports Industry, and Finance Industry.
High School Courses and Related Careers
Occupations that relate to accounting include being an auditor, budget analyst, credit analysts, and financial examiner. Courses that I can take to help me of what an accountant is and what they are required to be one are Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Personal Finace and Investing.
Promotion opportunities
There are a few ways I could get promoted being an accountant. Ways like showing my loyalty,showing my progress,communication with my boss or fellow co-workers, making it so its not about the money, and by working hard.

College that offers account
MSU offers a accounting and business law major.If I choose to go to MSU I could get my CPA, CMA, CIA.In order to be able to attend MSU I need at least a 2.70 GPA,and a handfull of tests that are also required.
Evaluation
Being an accountant is an occupation that requires math, business skills. It requires a solid high school GPA to even attend some of the colleges that offer the major. It is hard to become one but once I am I have a good outlook in the future.I selected this occupation because its something im interested in doing after high school.
