Blaze Bulletin
Edition 9 Week of October 23rd
Greetings...
Dear Teachers,
Well, we have one 9 weeks under the collective belts! It has seemed very fast at times and at other times not so much! I just encourage you to take care of yourselves. Looking at the below pictures of different fall breaks, it reminds me of some of what's important: Family. Health. Enjoyment. These are important so that you can have the energy and enthusiasm to do the hard work here! With that in mind, enjoy the weekend!

GRADE REMINDER...
Teachers should enter an average of 2 grades per week. Each week the grades should be updated in iNow. This is the way students and parents can follow progress.
School-wide ACT - OCTOBER 17
Tuesday, October 17, the seniors will be taking the ACT and everyone else will be taking the practice ACT.
A schedule will come out after Fall Break.
C & I
When I came to BHS four years ago, I made many changes to awards day. They have all received positive feedback except for the fact that underclassmen are not seeing the senior awards. With that in mind, Coach McCreery recorded last year's Senior Awards Evening and has condensed it into a 29-minute video of the scholarships and Nathan Stephens Award.
This video will be shown during C&I on Monday, October 16. We are putting it near this first report card in hopes that you will use it as a tool for a discussion about scholarship and character with your C&I group sometime during the rest of the week. Please do not make any other plans for C&I on this day and do not request that any of your other students come to you. All students should remain in C&I on October 16 and should watch the video.
Club Fair @ Lunch Oct. 18 & 19
How often do we hear students say they're not involved because they don't know where to start?
To help those students, Student Council will host a Club Fair during lunch on Wednesday, Oct 18 and Thursday, Oct 19. Half of the clubs will set up each day to keep it from being overwhelming to the students. Each club will have a table and can post/distribute information like what the club does, when/where it meets, and any requirements for joining.
If your student organization would like to participate, simply reply club and lead sponsor's name, and I'll be in touch with more details.
