Senior Spotlight: Audrey Higgins
Audrey has attended CCA since K4, so around 14 years. Some things she has liked about CCA are the small class sizes. She enjoys talking to the little kids in the hallways. She likes that everybody at CCA knows each other. Her parents are Casey and Dawn Higgins. She has a younger brother, Collin, who is a seventh grader this year. Her pets are Simone, a black lab, and a pitbull mix named Fred. Her future plans after High School are to either attend the University of Central Missouri or the University of Missouri and major in either Elementary Education or Language Pathology.
Her favorite CCA memory is winning the State Championship in Basketball her Freshman year. Her favorite Bible verse is Deuteronomy 31:6- Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Some teachers that have made a positive impact on her life are Mr. See and Mr. Patterson. Mr. See taught her to always work hard and learn new things in a fun and exciting way. Mr. Patterson has taught her to not let the little things in life ruin what is important to her. The sports she plays are Basketball, Soccer, and Volleyball. In her spare time, she enjoys helping her dad on the farm, playing Basketball, playing games, and hanging out with her friends. –Kennedy Vaughn

Chapel: Canines for Christ
CCA Juniors and Seniors opened chapel this morning. Audrey led the pledge to the American Flag, Maddie the pledge to the Bible, and Marlee the pledge to the Christian Flag. Glenn opened up the service in prayer.
Canines for Christ representatives, Lisa and her daughter Dory presented their therapy dogs. They take their dogs, Poppy and Vera, to places like schools, assisted living, hospitals, therapy, and churches. They use their dogs to make people feel more comfortable and open to the gospel when they tell it. They help other people train their dogs as well. They lead a reading program for children. The children will just read books and their math facts to the dogs, in doing this the children feel less pressure and it makes practicing their skills much easier.
