BCA Leadership change for 2020!
Dear parents,
We are sorry to lose Ken Reed as the BCA Dean at Blackman High. He has taken a job in Williamson County where we know he will do great things!
In his place, our new assistant principal, Justin Smith, will take on the Dean position. I will be working closely with him, and we look forward to continued and expanded success in our program. Mr. Smith was an exemplary English teacher here at BHS and then was our Instructional Coach for the past two years. He is a lifetime middle Tennessee resident and a class of 2001 MTSU graduate! (He's a third generation graduate - his great-grandmother was there when it was Middle Tennessee State Normal School; his dad was also a graduate). His wife is a teacher in RCS, and they have two daughters, one of whom is in the BCA Class of 2024! Mr. Smith is honored to continue to develop this partnership between MTSU and Blackman High School.
Save the date of August 4th! This is our annual Kickoff celebration and parent meeting. More information will be coming before August 4th. Typically, on this night, students get their schedules, play games, get their BCA t-shirt for the year, etc. Obviously, because of Covid-19, we may adjust how this evening will look; but it will be a fun and informative night!
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
