HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL

Hi everyone

NAPLAN is over for another year. However moving it to first term added quite a lot of complexity. Given it is going to remain in this term we will be reviewing how term one looks next year so that our children can get the most out of it.

Thank you to the parents who attended Tuesday’s Parents and Friends (P&F) meeting, and also the parents who attended the Holy Rosary Catholic Schools Advisory Council (CSAC) meeting following the P&F meeting. Your commitment and involvement on behalf of our community means a great deal. Please keep an eye out for information forthcoming from the meetings.

Big thank you to Rob Flexman for such a great swimming carnival today! This was a lot of fun. You may recall that last year, for covid reasons, swimming carnivals were scarce, but Rob found a way forward for our school, which was amazing. The learnings from last year are again evident this year, with use of the outside pool, and running the carnival in two sessions over the day being the more obvious ones. To the many, many parent volunteers, we are so grateful for your interest and support - it makes the carnival!

Parent/Teacher Interviews

The Holy Rosary Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday 4 April. Our Specialist Teachers are also available for interviews. School will close at 12pm and children will need to be collected at this time so that teachers can have a short lunch break. Interviews will begin at 12.30pm. Just a reminder the interview appointment slots go for 10 minutes so please ensure you arrive on time.

Happy Harmony Week! Everyone belongs and are welcome in our library. Next Thursday 30th March is our Project Compassion Second Hand Book Sale. Students will be able to buy a second hand, used or old library book for 50c with all proceeds going to Project Compassion. Years 2-6 will be able to purchase at lunchtime, younger years at other times in the day. If you have any books you would like to donate, please deliver them to the library on Tuesday 28th or Wednesday 29th ONLY (library is closed on Mondays).

Thank you to all who supported our food drive for Vinnies. It was a great success and the pantry is full. Thanks also to our year 6 Christian Service group for driving this initiative.

Newman College have a workshop planned for this Monday night 27th – Nourishing Strong Minds for years kindy-6 and some topics include emotional regulation and developmental behaviour.
