Tri Delta Tribune
Alpha Pi Chapter - March 2014
Letter from the New Member Educator
All of our chapter’s hard work during recruitment paid off completely when our 42 new members ran down to 4604 College Ave on bid day this year! As New Member Educator, I was ecstatic to get to know our new members and help them with their transition into the chapter. This group of girls is very diverse, hailing from as far north as Connecticut and as south as Florida. They have gotten to know each other and the rest of the Alpha Pi sisters through fun events, such as our new member sleepover and “speed dating!” Many more events are to come, such as a pledge class trip to a UMD men’s basketball game and a frozen yogurt social!
Each new member has been paired with a big sister to help guide her and introduce her to the chapter. These Tridelta families are excited to add the new member to their family scrapbooks and pass down stitched-letter shirts on initiation day!
As the future leaders of this chapter, the new members are very excited to get involved with leadership opportunities and philanthropy. For UMD’s Terp Thon event on March 8th the Tridelta new members, along with their team, have raised almost $15,000 for Children’s National Hospital in D.C.! I am proud to call them our new members and very excited to see what they can accomplish next!

St. Jude Awareness Month
"Our philanthropy chairs did a great job of turning Sincerely Yours into a great bonding night for the entire chapter! It was really awesome to see every Tri Delta, including the new members, be in one place all working so hard for St. Jude!" -Tara Frankhauser, Sophomore
"Our chapter has had such great morale throughout this school year when it comes to philanthropy events, and the amazing turnout last night (probably the best in the past couple years) proved that we are still keeping the excitement and passion for St. Jude going this semester!" -Meaghan Smith, Senior
"Not only was the love for St. Jude palpable, but the event was the most organized Sincerely Yours yet! With coffee, popcorn, candy bags, the movie "Frozen," and organized folders containing all of our individual supplies- the event went so smoothly!" - Kathryn Flinchbaugh, Senior
Delta Love Week
