The Principal's POV on...NJSBA Workshop 2019

In addition to my regularly scheduled "Principal duties" this week, I had the opportunity to put on my board member "hat" & represent Oaklyn at the 2019 NJSBA Workshop! When I decided to make the jump from teaching to administration, my goal was to broaden the scope of the community I support. Since becoming a board member, I'm able to attend events such as this and make a positive impact for the children in two communities...and it's an amazing feeling!

Throughout the week, I attended many fantastic sessions that focused on #EverydaySEL, Schoolwide PBSIS, student engagement/achievement & various legal issues in education. Needless, to say I learned a lot and can't wait to share with my colleagues, but the BEST part of my week was when I had parents reach out to say: HEY! Where’s the #BulldogBuddy winner videos? I can’t tell you how good it feels to celebrate our students’ achievements & to have my efforts recognized (and appreciated) by our families! I’m a lucky Principal to be serving this AMAZING community!

Don't forget to click through some of the links above to learn along with me & share your thoughts via email, social media or during a Chat & Chew! Thank you for a fantastic week & have a great weekend!
