NOTEWORTHY NEWS BY MRS. FOSTER
WEEK OF MAY 11-15, 2015
CAMP ACADEMICS
GREETINGS
It is wonderful to have our entire end-of-the- year testing done. We have completed the DRA reading test and the district math test. I will be sending DRA results home this week. Now we can go back to our regular schedule.
READING/WRITING
We will begin to write How To papers. We will start with very simple things. This skill will be developed over the next two weeks. I will not be sending home reading folders anymore. We will still be working on skills in reading groups each day.
MATH
We will be spending the week working on place value to the hundreds place. This is a very big concept. It is often times hard for them to imagine adding numbers and getting an answer that is over 100. We will continue to work on facts up to 20.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We are still looking at maps, but this week we will be expanding and looking at a map of the globe. We will learn what a globe is and what it shows. We will also learn about the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
