Weekly Update November 19, 2021
REMINDER: Monday, November 29, 2021 Asynchronous Day of Learning
The Lion's Share
By Superintendent Barrett
To be sure, school board meetings across the country have had their share of rudeness. There have been protests, heated disagreements with lots of shouting and vitriolic speech.
Although we have had public participation disagreements at our Gahanna-Jefferson Board of Education meetings, community members have generally shared their views peacefully and showed respect for each other. For example, when there are controversial issues at our meetings, attendees are courteous and clap after each speaker, even if their views differ from those presented.
A Busy Year for GJPS Nurses
While everyone continues to adapt to another school year with COVID-19, our GJPS nurses are doing all they can to keep our school community safe and healthy.

Middle School South
Welcome Home Surprise
Gahanna Middle School South was recently the site of a special surprise for one of our seventh-grade students.
After serving eleven months in Germany with the Ohio National Guard, Staff Sergeant Chris Nolan returned home and surprised his daughter Samantha during art class at Middle School South.
We send warm wishes and gratitude to Staff Sergeant Nolan, daughter Samantha, and the entire Nolan family for the sacrifices made to protect our country.
