Sheldon ISD Tech Tips
August 2016: Meet the Teacher Night Ideas
Welcome Back Teachers!
My name is Annette Clark and I will be serving your campus as a Digital Learning Specialist this year. I will be creating a schedule soon that allows me to visit NMS, KMS, and KHS/ECHS on a regular basis. I look forward to working with all of you.
This is the first 2016-2017 edition of SISD Tech Tips. I will send them out once a month with various ideas and tools to support digital learning on your campus.
Important - Student Google Accounts
Remember - when a new student enrolls in the district, it can take up to 3 days for them to be synced in our system.
Remind
The website also provides a PDF with the codes that you can print and post for parents to see.
Note: Use Remind with parents only! Check out the video below for further directions.
QR Codes
If parents need a QR code reader, you can suggest the i-Nigma app.
A great website to create QR codes is www.qrstuff.com.
If you use the Google Chrome web browser, a great extension for creating QR codes that you can install is the goo.gl URL shortener.
Google Form to Collect Parent Information
Student Name
Parent Name
Email Address
Phone Number
Is there anything you would like us to know about your student?
Important: Under Settings - General, make sure to de-select "Restrict to Sheldon ISD Users" so that parents can access the form. Next, under Settings - Presentation, select "Show link to submit another response." This will allow multiple parents to access the form without a teacher needing to pull it back up.
