My Grandfather's Funeral
by: William Frazee
Introduction
The orange sun, tall white structure, and tears on faces all remind me of the special time I had with my family. I will never forget my grandfather, Wowo's funeral in the walls of the Christ Lutheran Church.
Body Paragraph 1
First, I remember entering the formal church following after my grandfather's beautiful brown and black casket. As we waited outside the building, there was a gentle breeze that made my face cold because of my tears. When I first saw my grandfather's basket, I thought it was the most grand thing I had ever seen.
Body paragraph 2
Then, my family and I sat on the creaky seats and we all started to remember all the wonderful times we had with my grandfather. I started to remember when my grandfather used to sneak up behind me and say, "I've got you now!" When the priest started to talk to us, my face was soaked with tears.
Body paragraph 3
Finally, my family and I all prayed, said our good-byes, and gave our items to my grandfather. I prayed to my grandfather like he was really there and like he never left. I told my grandfather that I loved him and that it wouldn't be the last time I would speak to him.
Conclusion
Not only did I get to go to my first funeral, but I also made a cherished memory that day. I will never forget going to my grandfather's funeral with my family.
