Dear La Paloma Families,
What a wonderful first few weeks of school. Your students have been amazing and it is always such a joy to greet them and you every morning. As I visit classes, our students are full of excitement and actively engaged in their learning. Every day routines and procedures are getting easier for our students and they are off to a wonderful start to the year!
Thank you to everyone who attended our Back to School Night! Our teachers shared important information regarding their classroom, communication, instruction and so much more. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child's teacher.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your flexibility, patience, and grace during this first weeks of school, especially as we navigate arrival and dismissal procedures. Please see the section below regarding arrival and dismissal and about how you can support to create a smooth and safe process.
We want to thank you for such an amazing start. One school, one team is our motto this year and we know that together we can make this a wonderful year for all at La Paloma. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.

Just a few reminders about Arrival and Dismissal
Our goal is always to ensure a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal. Student, staff and parent safety is important to us. We appreciate your help and support at arrival and dismissal. Here are just a few reminders to support the flow of traffic at arrival and dismissal:
School gates open up at 7:30am and school starts at 8:00am. Gates are closed at 8:00am. Students can enter through the office after 8:00 without being marked tardy. After 8:05, students are marked tardy.
- Please remember that we are in a school zone. Please follow the traffic laws, posted speed limit signs and the right of way. Student, staff and parent safety is crucial.
- Please use the cul-de-sac ONLY when dropping off in the AM.
- Please do not block or park in front of drive ways on Calle de La Paloma and Mercedes Court.
- If you want to walk your child to the gate in the morning or your child needs extra time to get ready, please park and you may escort your student to the gate.
- Please do not exit your vehicle, as this slows the flow of traffic
- Do not leave your car unattended while waiting in the drive through line.
- Please pull all the way forward in the drop off and dismissal zones as directed.
- To expedite our after school pick up, please place a sign in your window with your student’s name and grade. These were given at the Meet and Greet. This allows our staff to call for your child. If you need an additional sign, please stop by the office and we will be happy to provide one.
- Please do NOT use the private street(Calle de La Paloma) to cut through. This is a private street and should not be used by our La Paloma Families.
- If someone else will be dropping off and picking up your child, please provide them with this information.
Dismissal Times on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are:
TK/K - 2:15pm
1st-6th - 2:20pm
Dismissal times on Wednesdays are:
TK/K - 1:10pm
1st-6th - 1:15pm
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
