Optimist Student of the Month
Please help us recognize Optimist Student of the Month, Tristan Kenner! Tristan was nominated due to the following:
“Tristan is a respectful, considerate leader in his class. He is willing to help any peer, teacher, or staff that needs it. I appreciate Tristan’s patience and optimism in Advisory class.”
“When I think about an optimist student, Tristan comes to mind. I have had the opportunity to have Tristan in class for two years for both Algebra as a 7th grader and Geometry as an 8th grader. This young man always has a smile on his face that lights up a room. He has impressed me as someone that cares not only about himself, but as well as others. This is demonstrated daily in his interactions with his peers and teachers. Tristan works hard both inside and outside of the classroom. He is an individual that is always willing to ask questions in class to clarify his understanding. Tristan is a positive role model. He is highly regarded by both his peers, and his teachers. Tristan exemplifies the meaning of an Optimist Student.”
“Tristan is a cheerful, eager learner in my classroom. I really enjoy seeing how he responds to new ideas and challenges. He is truly an optimist!”
“Tristan is a quiet leader that others follow and don’t know why, but I know. He is ethical, kind, intelligent, thoughtful, and has a smile that makes people feel at ease.”
Congratulations, Tristan!

Tardy Policy
A student is tardy if they are not in the required classroom or teaching station when the passing period has ended. There are two types of tardies:
Excused - with another staff member or administrator (get a pass from that teacher before going to the next class), extreme circumstances in the morning at home (car trouble, illness, etc. - Parents or guardians are asked to call or write a note including the reason for the tardy).
Unexcused - oversleeping, arriving at class late without a pass from a staff member, going to the lockers or restroom and arriving late (asking the teacher first before going will eliminate being counted tardy), arriving at school late with no note or a call, or repeated morning tardies. This also includes in between class tardies.
