The Principal's Perspective
We are looking forward to sharing fun and laughter on October 18th at our PTO sponsored Fall Festival. This event will be held here at CGES from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Please check our calendar for information regarding PTO meetings, family nights, and other campus events. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved at Gamble! Clicking on the October calendar below will route you directly to our school's website. We update the website calendar throughout the month, so please check it frequently!!
We take the safety and security of our students very seriously. Please be reminded that if you need to visit with a teacher, the quickest method of contact is an email. Visitors to our campus are required to present a state-issued photo identification prior to entering the building. Should a 1:1 meeting be necessary, appointments must be scheduled in advance. This helps us keep our building secure and allows teachers to engage with students without an interruption to learning.
As an added security precaution, students arriving after car-duty personnel have entered the building must be escorted inside and signed-in/out in the office.
Teachers will be scheduling Parent/Teacher conferences soon. We look forward to having 100% participation!! Teachers will also be sending home information about our Fall Parties!
Please be sure to contact our office if you have questions or concerns. Happy Fall!
Mr. Randall Hunt, Principal
The Counselors' Corner
Hello!
Our counseling focus for the month of October is Bullying, Empathy and Kindness. We will be going into classrooms to help students realize the importance of empathy and kindness in order to erase all forms of bullying. We at CGES take this very seriously. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
We have also attached two documents below which we hope you find helpful. One is describing our Big Idea of the month which is Courage. We talk about our Big Ideas every morning during announcements. We encourage you as a family to work with us on promoting each Big Idea.
The second attachment is our home and school connection. We hope this provides you with some useful information concerning how we work together in order for your child to be happy and successful.
Thanks for all you do!

This month in the library we are:
· Learning how to use encyclopedias both print and online
· Learning how to use atlases both print and online
· Reading Halloween books and categorizing candy
· Enjoying the book fair (Sep 30-Oct 4)
PARENTS/GUARDIANS please talk with your students about having water bottles around their library books. We’ve had several books ruined in the last few weeks by leaky water bottles. Those books have to be thrown away because they have mold/mildew and are a health hazard. I hate that students are having to pay for expensive books when it could be easily avoided by not having a water bottle in a backpack with a library book.
Thanks for your help!

*October Focus in PE*
K-2: Students are continuing to practice their Locomotor Skills and learning how their bodies move different directions - Clockwise & Counterclockwise, Left & Right. We are playing lots of fun mini games as well - Go Away, Go Home, Builders & Bulldozers, I See, I See, etc.
3-4: Students are starting the process of learning the proper ways to throw. We are beginning with underhand rolling and will progress up to overhand throwing. Weather permitting, we will continue biking for a few more weeks.
PLEASE make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes on the days they come to PE. Students can participate more effectively as well as it is a safety issue.
Take time each week to do some cardio with your family - even if it’s just a 5 minute walk/jog down the street. If the weather does not allow you to do this outside, sign up for gonoodle.com - this is free for AR residents! There are many dance and exercise videos on this site geared towards children and physical activity.
