What Is employment
The unemployment rate in the US is factored by many things. The population number is the number of people in the US that are able to work, this is called the civilian work force. The number is taken for the total civilian work force, not including those under 16 years old, military servicemen and women, and those who are not looking for work, and is calculated from the people without work.
North Carolina's Unemployment
North Carolina's unemployment is current around 6.3%, which is near the normal US average.
Other State's Unemployment
Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia
The average United States unemployment rate is at 5.9%. The current unemployment rates in Virginia are low at 5.3%, while the rates are a little higher in Georgia at 7.7%. South Carolina is near the norm at 6.7%
