Student Wellness Presentation (Grades 9-12)
Today’s teenagers face new and increasingly complex challenges. Here at Wachusett Regional High School, we are committed to having all students maximize their potential and meet the demands of their teen years with success. In addition to fostering academic growth, we wish to provide support, tools and resources to help our students navigate the complex emotional challenges of adolescence. As part of our continuum of programming here at Wachusett, we are offering an Adolescent Wellness presentation that provides an overview of the emotional and developmental challenges that today’s teenagers face. As part of the presentation, we distinguish between typical types of adolescent behavior and those behaviors that may signal the need for professional intervention. We will provide an overview of the programs that we use here in the high school to help students cope with challenging emotions, recommended practices and strategies that parents can use with their teenagers to reduce stress and enhance wellness, and community resources if needed.
In addition to talking about student wellness, we will also review the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program that 9th graders will be exposed to later this spring. It is a continuation of the program that they had last year as 8th graders.
If you have questions or wish to learn more about this presentation, please feel free to contact Dr. Timothy Connors at Timothy_Connors@wrsd.net or myself atJon_Krol@wrsd.net.
No RSVP is necessary.
