CB Superintendent Search Survey
The Central Bucks School District – School Board of Directors is entering into a search for a new Superintendent of Schools. The Bucks County Intermediate Unit is assisting them in the search.
The School Board is interested in hearing from the Central Bucks Community regarding the strengths, challenges, goals, and personal attributes that will help determine the candidate who will be the best fit for the district through a Superintendent Search Survey.
The link to the survey can be found on the front page of the Central Bucks School District Website starting on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 or at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CentralBucks.
The survey will take about ten minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and confidential. The School Board of Directors requests that you respond only once to this survey. Paper copies of the survey will also be available in the Front Offices of all Central Bucks Schools.
Please note that the survey will close on February 9, 2016 at 11:45 PM.
Thank you for your effort in helping the Central Bucks School Board of Directors with this important task.
Microsoft Office 365
Central Bucks School District has partnered with Microsoft to offer Microsoft Office 365 to students in Grades 5-12. Office 365's productivity suite enables students and teachers to share documents, access Microsoft software applications online and work collaboratively. As the district increases both teacher and student access to educational technology, we wanted to remind you of a great opportunity.
Microsoft Office is available free for students in grades 5-12. Students may want to take the opportunity to install the full Office applications on up to 5 PCs, Macs or tablets for free. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Students can learn more about the process here: http://www.cbsd.org/365
Once downloaded, students can work with classmates online and see each other's changes in real time with Office Online, the full version of Office or OneDrive.
Congratulations Joey Vernachio!

2nd Semester Back-To-School Night
You are invited to the Central Bucks High School West Back-To-School Night on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 7:00 PM. The majority of students will begin entirely new 9 week or 18 week classes on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. The second Back-To-School Night provides an opportunity to meet these new teachers and hear a brief presentation about their classes.
Your student's schedule can be found on parent portal. Please print that schedule at home as we will not have paper copies at West on that evening. Classes will meet on a "B" Day schedule, which will impact music and physical education classes. Maps will be available.
Representatives from the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology will be in Room D125 to discuss their programs.
In the event of inclement weather, Back-To-School Night will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016.
The time schedule for February's Back-To-School Night is located on CB West's Website.
CB West Is Proud!
Collin Schmidt, CB West Sophomore, loves tennis and experiencing foreign cultures first hand. Last year he was selected to participate in Legacy’s Building Bridges Leadership Exchange Program with Israeli Tennis Centers. The ten month long program concluded last summer when Collin and seven other American players travelled to Israel to meet and stay with their Muslim, Jewish and Christian exchange partners. Both groups of students spent two weeks playing tennis and traveling together visiting five cities in Israel including a stay in Bedouin tents and a visit to Yad-Vashem. Another two weeks were spent in the U.S. promoting their mission of intercultural acceptance and peace in meetings with press, politicians, sponsors and ambassadors of both countries in several U.S. cities. Lasting friendships were made among this diverse group through the awesome experiences they shared.

News From CB West's Athletic Department
The CB West athletic department would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of the patrons from CB West and CB East for a fantastic turnout at last Friday’s inter-district boys basketball game here at West. It was a fantastic atmosphere for high school basketball that we are sure created a lasting memory for all involved. Thank you!
Indoor Track & Field: With only a few weeks to go, the boys and girls continue to train hard in preparation for the Meet of Champions and the upcoming PIAA Indoor State Championships. Best of luck to all of our coaches and participants.
Swimming: The boys and girls both swam a tough meet at Souderton this past Tuesday. The teams are dedicated to their training in preparation for this year’s league and district championships.
Cheer: Congratulations to our Cheer squad for earning a bid to the PIAA State Championship Event next weekend. The girls will compete early on Friday and look to advance to the championship rounds on Saturday. Keep up the great work girls!
· The boy’s team enjoyed big wins over East and South in their past two games. They have been playing outstanding defense and matching it with some great shooting. Coach Sherman and his staff are doing an outstanding job keeping the team focused and dedicated to their team goals.
· The girls defeated CB East last Friday in a low scoring affair. The girls were also able to get a nice win over CR South this past weekend at Philadelphia University. The girls had a rough shooting night and lost a tough one on the road against CB South at the 7th annual Coaches vs Cancer Classic.
Wrestling: The team continues to battle injuries this season. They lost a tough one to North Penn this past week. The boys will continue to train and rehab in hopes of getting healthy for the league and district championships.
