SMSOZ MS/HS OCTOBER 2022 NEWSLETTER
KNOWING & LOVING JESUS IN THE EUCHARIST
NOTE FROM THE DRE
Good afternoon middle school and high school families!
Fall has arrived and God's beauty surrounds us. The leaves are just starting to change at Holy Hill. The confirmation class, high schoolers and parents who attend the St. John Bosco Youth day were blessed with a beautiful day for a youth retreat! Thanks to everyone who participated in the day! Classes are off to a great start and youth will receive information about their saint project this week. The youth fellowship meals were delicious! Thanks to the families who provided nourishment for the youth the month of September! Also, thanks to all families and catechists who joined us for the Family Mass and potluck! It was a fun evening, filled with much laughter, conversation and smiles.
In this newsletter, you will find some housekeeping reminders, service opportunities for everyone, a variety of upcoming events from both local and surrounding parishes, and the Eucharistic Revival video that we talked about in the parent meeting. Please be sure to scroll through and share these events with your family!
Lastly, I just wanted to note that at classes we will be inviting your kids to come to adoration. Sign up for a slot, if you are willing. Jesus will be exposed for 40 hours and someone needs to sit with him each minute in order for this to happen. It is a great way to take time away from the busyness, even for just 15 minutes, and join your community in adoration with Jesus.
Autumn Blessings, Lesa Staehler, DRE
At Holy Hill, the youth that attended spent time in adoration and saw Jesus up close during the procession.
HOUSEKEEPING REMINDERS
RELIGIOUS ED & SACRAMENTAL FEES
Thanks to all families who have turned in their fees. If you haven't paid your religious education fees, please do so. Checks can be written to St. Mary's. Please put religious education fees in the memo. Also reminder that Sacramental fees are a separated fee. If you are experiencing financial hardship, then please reach out to me privately.
GOSPEL WEEKLIES
All youth should have completed a few of their gospel weeklies, but I noticed some didn't take their folders. So, they will have some catching up. I noticed some have turned a couple in already - Kudos to those youth! A friendly reminder that these are required component of their religious education hours. Drawings will take place each class night so bring in your completed gospel weeklies!
