Professional Development
Summer 2020
All Elysian Fields ISD staff are required to complete 3 full days of professional development equal to 18 hours of comp time in order to receive 3 Comp days. This time does not include the required gifted and talented training. Professional development must be completed before August 3, 2020.
Ways to Fulfill Professional Development Requirements

There are numerous online options that include courses and webinars. Many of these courses are self-paced and vary in hours.

3. Non-Traditional (Must be approved by administrator)

- Work Days (for paraprofessionals)
Must complete summer trainings outside of contract hours between May 16 and August 2, 2020. Certificates must be submitted to administrators by August 7, 2020.

4. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - Head director of school marching band; head coach or chief sponsor of extra curricular cheerleading. (Must maintain proof of certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
5. Civil Rights Training - Frontline food service staff and those that supervise frontline staff.
6. Concussion Training - Each member of the concussion oversight team, may include the school nurse.
7. Dyslexia - Teachers who screen and treat students with dyslexia and related disorders.
