The Principals' Perspective
Before you know it, we will be out for Winter Break. We hope that everyone has time to bond with family and friends. There are many fun ways to continue helping children learn over break. You might read classic books and share wonderful stories, use numbers and measurement as favorite dishes are being prepared, or practice writing by composing thank-you notes!
We want to thank YOU for the daily support your provide. We could not do our jobs without you, and we sincerely wish you all a blessed holiday season.

From Mrs. Richard's STEM Lab
We will be celebrating Computer Science Week in the STEM lab by learning about Binary Coding and encoding/decoding words. 2nd-4th graders will learn how to write their name in binary code with various activities. Kindergarten and 1st grade will learn more about the term “Computer Science” and what it refers to. In addition, we will be exploring some visual block-based programming language sites this month. It’s going to be a fun, busy month!
You can incorporate programming and coding skills in everyday play. Draw or build a maze out of blocks and have your child navigate through the maze using left, right, forward, and backward step-by-step directions.
Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
In December we will talk about Holidays Around the World and the traditions that have been introduced to us. Starting with Mexico’s Legend of the Poinsettia, each grade will decorate different Poinsettias. Then we will visit Russia, and discuss The Nutcracker and design our own Nutcrackers. From Russia we will travel to the Arctic and will see different animals that call that area home, locate The North Pole and the Magnetic North Pole on the World Map, and design our own "snow-person."
To support global learning at home, check out these locations on the Google Earth and compare the weather to our weather conditions!
Happy Travels,
Mrs. Musial
