need to know
Covid Corner: For all the information we have regarding management of Covid-19 in schools please refer to our "Covid Corner.” We have updated it with the most recent government flow charts and documents, as well as a link to the self-reporting rapid test results webpage, also found here.
Rapid Test and Mask Updates: Test kits have not yet been received from the government for Grade 7-11 students. A box of 50 procedural masks was distributed to all students this week. Any absent student can pick up his masks from Ms. Beech when he returns to school.
Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews continue tonight until 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m via Zoom. If you were unable to arrange Parent-Student-Teacher interviews for whatever reason, you may contact the teachers you would like to meet with and arrange a Zoom meeting or telephone call at a later date. For any issues with your bookings or Zoom links, please contact Ms. Beech or Ms. Poulin.
Return to regular Phys. Ed. classes next week! We will return to the scheduled Term 2 phys ed classes on January 31 with required Covid-19 protocols in place. Teams will resume practices; however, no games or competitions are permitted yet. Students and parents can check OnCampus for their Phys. Ed. class schedules and our Athletics page for updates. We will notify families once regulations allow for games to resume. Coaches and teachers will continue to send their athletes updates via email. Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation!
Re-enrollment Form: The deadline to submit the re-enrollment form and payment is Friday, February 4. To secure your son’s enrollment for the 2022-2023 academic year, please check off the appropriate box on the form and return the form and payment by mail or at the Front Office (via the mail slot or reception desk). Address the envelope with attention to Ms. Debbie Dragone in the Business Office. It is crucial for the school’s planning that we have accurate and complete re-enrollment numbers. The re-enrollment fee secures your son’s place for next year.
Intensives! Teachers presented their 4-day intensive courses to students in this week’s assembly. Click here to check out the MS Intensive course options which will replace regular academic classes on April 11-14. Students were given the opportunity to choose their preferred options using this Google Form. Responses are due tomorrow! Class lists will be shared before the March break and teachers will meet with their groups to begin the intensive adventure!
March Break Camps: Any camps we are offering for students over the March break will be shared with you here. Revisit each week to see what's being offered! Please note that all camps will adhere to the Covid-19 protocols in place at that time they are in session.
Student Volunteers Needed! Help us teach photography! If you have a passion for photography and want to give back to our community, we have a great opportunity for you. In collaboration with Contactivity Centre, Selwyn House offers weekly photography courses to seniors in the Montreal community. We are looking for students to help our teachers lead the classes and help the seniors improve their photography skills. If you are interested in signing up, please email Ms. Segal for more information.
Volunteer Opportunity: Bread and Beyond needs your help! Are you looking for volunteer opportunities to do as a family? Why not make sandwiches to support local organizations who serve Montreal’s homeless population. It’s cold out there and our community needs our support. Click here and also check out our website for more information.

Black History Month - Sharing Our Cultural Roots: The prefects are organizing programming for Black History Month in February, and they invite anyone with ideas or suggestions to please reach out to them. The theme for this year is ‘Getting to the Roots,’ and students hope to plan events that help us uncover some of the connections between black cultural traditions and modern trends. As part of this event, the prefects would like to feature profiles about our black students and staff so we can learn more about them and their families. If your child identifies as black and is willing to participate, please fill out this Google Form. The mini-biographies will be put up as posters around the school.
