PSSA Testing Begins
PSSA Testing Begins on March 24
The first week of PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) tests for 7th and 8th graders begins at Lenape on Monday, March 24th. The testing will take place on the mornings of March 24, 25, 26, and 27. During this time, we will be following a different bell schedule, which will affect all grades 7-9. You can find the schedule here. This also includes the schedules for the test dates in April.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time and we respectfully request that routine doctor/dentist/ortho appointments not be scheduled during the exam periods. If a student has started a test, he/she may not go back at another time to finish that section. The student must finish once started or will not receive credit for any items not answered. Students who arrive to school after 7:55 A.M. on testing days will not start an exam that day. They will be scheduled to make up the exam on another day.
The students have been advised of the testing procedures and the security surrounding the exams. We ask for your help in reinforcing the following:
In order to ensure the security of the PSSA exams and to avoid the cost of replacing test items, no electronic devices are permitted in testing rooms. Electronic devices include cell phones, smartphones, E-readers, Nooks, Kindles, iPads, iPods, tablets, camera-ready devices and any other electronic device, which can be used to photograph or duplicate test materials, access the internet and/or communicate with others during the administration of the PSSA Exams.
If a student is discovered using and/or having a cell phone or other electronic device in his or her possession during the administration of the PSSA, parents will be notified and appropriate consequences will be given. The student could receive both school and Pennsylvania Department of Education consequences, which may include scores being invalidated and/or a fine to replace test items. All testing materials are copyrighted property of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Penalties for violations of the Copyright Act may include the cost of replacing the compromised test item(s) or fines of no less than $750 up to $30,000 for a single violation. 17 U.S.C 101 et seq.
If you have any questions regarding the PSSA exam, please call Mrs. Saullo or Mrs. Schmon.
