Behavioral Health Conference on March 9th
Parents/caregivers and students are invited to attend the Behavioral Health Conference on Thursday, March 9 from 3-6 p.m. at Thomas Stone High School. See the flyer for more information and directions on how to pre-register.
Protecting Our Children Online on March 16th
Innocence Stolen: Protecting Our Children Online is a multimedia presentation that provides communities with the necessary information to keep children safe on the internet, prevention/intervention strategies, and internet safety resources. Topics include social networking, cyberbullying, sexting, and internet predators. This in-person event will be on March 16th, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Dr. Higdon Elementary. All members of the public are welcome, but slots are limited. Click here to register.
Childcare Provider Class on March 22nd
Childcare providers in Title I school zones are invited to participate in the virtual class, Imagineering in the Classroom, on Wednesday, March 22 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Participants will receive 3 hours of Core of Knowledge in the area of Child Development. Certificates will be provided upon completion of the class via email. Click here to register!
Imagineering in the Classroom: In today’s engineering marketplace, it has become apparent that adults who are able to use their creativity and imaginations are in high demand. Studies have shown, however, that adult creativity is on the decline. In this workshop, we will look at strategies and materials childcare providers can use to support the child’s innate creative ability and imagination while exploring engineering in the classroom. (COK: 3-hr. Curriculum)
