To accommodate STAAR testing next week, we have moved the Workshop Registration opening date to 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 1st. No April Fools'!

Summer 2015 Professional Development "Power Weeks" - Just under 100 different sessions are being planned for these designated weeks in June and August:

June 8-11 and August 3-7

Sessions to look forward to include:

  • ESL Certification Test Prep Course - June 8-9
  • Classroom Management
  • Speed 21 Conference - June 11th
  • Digital Learning Conference for ALL 5-12 Social Studies teachers - August 3-4
  • GT Certification Training
  • CTE Retreat - August 6-7
  • Online 6 hour GT update sessions
  • Grade level and content specific sessions to support your classroom instruction and hot spot data

*Please note additional summer learning, including out of district sessions, can count towards your local contract requirement with Principal/appraiser approval.

Professional Development Exchange Days

All professional staff must accumulate a minimum of 12 Professional Development/Comp Time hours between June 8, 2015 and January 15, 2016 to be used for the August 14 and January 18 Exchange Days. All professional development applicable to exchange days must be taken during off-contract time (summer, evenings and/or weekends) and documented in Workshop.

All para/non-instructional staff must accumulate a minimum of 6 exchange hours between June 8, 2015 and January 15, 2016 to be used for the January 18 Exchange Day. All exchange hours must be taken during non-work day hours (before school, after-school, evening and/or weekends). Exchange hours must be documented with their supervisor.
