Final Senior Update

Friday June 18, 2021

NYS Restrictions Updated

Due to the last minute changes (Wednesday) from NYS regarding outdoor graduation ceremonies we have decided to make some final modifications to our graduation ceremony. Please see below for our FINAL changes. Please know we realize this is not an ideal situation for all and know that plans may have already been made, but we feel this is important to our senior class.

Graduation Ceremony Time-Friday, June 25, 2021

We will have ONE ceremony for all of our graduates.

  • The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 pm.

  • Graduates must arrive no later than 4:00 pm and report to the large gym.

  • The gates to the stadium will open at 3:00 pm.

Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal-Friday, June 25, 2021

There will be a mandatory graduation rehearsal for all graduates at 8:00 am, students must provide their own transportation.

This is for students only.

Graduates must meet in the stadium (park in the main lot, parking at the stadium will not be permitted).

Graduates will get their tickets (bracelets) for guests at rehearsal.

Proof of Vaccination/COVID-19 test/Contact Tracing Information

COVID Testing and Vaccine information is no longer needed. We also do not need to collect contact tracing information.

Because of this we are cancelling next week's fast pass distribution.

Tickets for Graduation

Tickets (bracelets) for Graduation will be given to the graduates at graduation rehearsal at 8:00am on Friday morning only. This is has always been our tradition regarding tickets.

We will be giving graduates four bracelets (tickets) that guests will use to get into graduation.

Those that show up without a bracelet, will not be let in to the stadium. If you want to watch graduation, please watch it on livestream. We do not have unlimited parking on our campus to accommodate those without tickets.

Graduate Guest List

We no longer need to keep track of the Graduate Guest List. So if you have a change to the list that was provided earlier this month, it is ok, no need to report it to us.

Graduates will get their tickets (bracelets) at graduation rehearsal on Friday, June 25th at 8:00 am and they will be responsible for handing them out.

Parking and Shuttle Information

We HIGHLY encourage families to carpool to graduation. We do not have unlimited parking on campus. We know for sure that there will be a lot of cars on Route 31 trying to enter the C-NS campus so please plan to leave your houses early. We will have members of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department along with North Syracuse Staff parking cars, please be patient with them as we are getting thousands of cars onto our campus.

  • Cars with the Handicapped hang tag will pull into the CNS campus and take a right to park down at the stadium. There will be a staff member there letting those cars through.
  • Graduates, if you do not come with your family, consider carpooling with friends and park in the gravel lot only.

We will be running shuttle buses if you would like to avoid driving up to Route 31 completely.

  • There will be one bus run only from the North Syracuse Jr. High at 3:15 pm. Please arrive by 3:00 pm to secure your spot in line.
  • We will have buses leaving from Gillette Road Middle School on a continuous pick up and drop off basis beginning at 3:15 pm.

Handicapped Seating

We will have handicapped seating in the lower section of the HOME bleachers with benches and chairs. This will be marked as Handicapped seating for guests. There are ramps at both ends of the bleachers for wheelchair accessibility.

Remember, parking is available at the stadium for those with the handicapped hang tag for cars.

Water and light snacks

The junior class will have water and small snacks for sale at Graduation. Please consider supporting their efforts.

Masks at the Graduation Ceremony

Masks are not required for vaccinated individuals.

Masks are required for those that are unvaccinated. We will be following the honor system regarding masks.

Graduates Dress

Since we are going to be outside, and it is expected to be warm, we do not recommend the wearing of suit coats under the graduation gown.

We also do not recommend the wearing of heels. All of our graduates will be walking on the turf and it is not easy to walk in heels. Flats or wedges are a much better choice.

Wear sunscreen and bug spray!

Livestreaming our Ceremony

Our ceremony will be livestreamed for those that cannot be with us at our ceremony. You will be able to find the link on the C-NS Webpage.
