Please remind your students to bring ear buds to school. Everyday they are working on computers and may need to watch a video or listen to a book.

3/14 - Took a quiz over the monotheistic religions. These will be graded and entered over break.
We will begin Polytheism when we return from break.

Language Arts:
Now that students have analyzed how the freedom of choice can affect the quality of one’s life, students will construct their own utopia. Students will have a brainstorming packet that includes a rubric of what should be included in their project. They can choose to work individually or with a partner.
Monday: Introduce Project
Tuesday: Brainstorm
Wednesday: Brainstorm
Thursday: Begin constructing utopia.
Friday: No School
Students will present their utopias to the class April 4-6.

Math Reminders:
*We be studying Statistics in our new unit. Please below for the Family Letter wth more information.
-It is important for students to practice their newly learned math skills by completing the homework assignments. When they spend time thinking about these concepts, it boosts their learning! The answer keys are posted in Schoology, so students may check their work.
-Morning Math Sessions are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Students have an orange pass that will allow them to come up at 7:25.
Science: Force and Motion - Energy
We just wrapped up the "Save the Penguins" project.
Students are expected to complete a post lab write up as a test grade.
When we return from Spring Break, we will begin our Astronomy an Space Unit.
Chapter 1 will cover The Sky From Earth, Earth in Space, Gravity and Motion, Phases and Eclipses and Tides.

Starting and Ending the Day at FRMS
Parent drop-off and pick-up will be located on the NORTH entrance to the building. Students who walk to school will use this entrance as well. Students will be allowed into the building at 7:25 am.
Bus drop-off and pick-up is located on the SOUTH side of the building.
If you have questions regarding busing availability or requests, please stop in at the FRMS main office or call (785) - 717-4500 with questions.

Additional Course Descriptions
Academic Strategies: Academic Strategies is a regular 54 minute class students will have everyday. On Fridays, students will have time to check their grades online and email you, their parents, with an update on grades and any missing work. On Fridays, students will also learn skills such as organization and spend time learning about and practicing our Trooper PRIDE values.
Beginning a few weeks into the school year, students will be placed into a Monday - Thursday Academic Strategies class based on their academic needs. Students will receive extra practice in math, reading or writing, or be challenged through extension classes. These placements are based on testing done at the beginning of the year, as well as studnet performance from the previous year. You will receive more information about these placements during October conferences.
