We Made It!!!

Hello GWHS Community,

After the many challenges this school year has brought us, we are pleased to celebrate you all making it to the finished line. You did it!! This marathon year was full of hills, valleys and rugged terrain but we came together as a community to offer support, encouragement and resources needed to make it. The team of the GWHS Eagle Eye Newsletter would like to thank you for allowing us to be a part of the process. As we embark on our summer break, we are aware that some of the needs that you have still persist. We are committed to be as helpful as we can to steer you and your family in the right direction for the resources you may need. In this edition we will highlight some of the more popular resources that we presented during the year and a few more new things. We are also preparing for the 2021-2022 school year and your input is always welcome on how we can make this newsletter more useful for you. Please feel free to complete the survey attached if you have any idea or suggestions on how we can best serve you. Have a great summer and we look forward to assisting you next school year.

Academic Support

Big picture

After a year of virtual learning, we understand that more than ever, our students will be seeking academic support, opportunities to connect with their peers over the summer, and help in preparing to return to in-person learning in the fall of 2021.

The School District of Philadelphia has designed summer programming to meet the challenges we know our students face right now. By partnering with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Children and Families, University of Pennsylvania, William Penn Foundation, Read2Succeed, and the Philadelphia Youth Network, teachers, and principals, we’ve created a well-rounded range of academic and enrichment experiences. We are excited to welcome students entering grades K -12 when summer programming begins on June 28, 2021

COVID 19 Vaccinations

Dear Member of the George Washington High School Community,

Would you please take a moment of your time to complete a brief (only three questions) survey about your interest in a George Washington High School COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic?

The clinic would offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, which requires two separate doses, to be administered three weeks apart from each other. It would be offered over two Friday-Saturday weekend dates, three weeks apart, and it would be open to all George Washington High School students, community members, AND their family members who are 12 years of age or older, including adult family members. Anyone under 18 years of age would require a signed parental permission form to get vaccinated. Their parent/guardian also would need to be with them and would need to present photo-identification.

If you're a George Washington High School student, family member, or community member who's interested in participating in this clinic, please click on (or copy and paste) this link to complete our interest survey:

This will help us to determine how many people we can expect to participate in the vaccination clinic we plan to hold at our school as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.
