SLP Online 7/8 Families,
I hope you had a great spring break and found time to relax and recharge for the start of Trimester 3.
As we wrap up Trimester 2 and move into Trimester 3, just a quick reminder that report cards will be available to families in Campus Parent Portal starting on Friday, March 25, at 4 p.m. Students also will be awarded a certificate for grade 7 and 8 honor roll.
- A Honor Roll requirements: Grade Point Average (GPA) - 3.70 - 4.0
- B Honor Roll requirements: Grade Point Average (GPA) - 2.70 - 3.699
Below are a few reminders on a couple of report card markings:
- Students receive a grade of NY (Not Yet) for any courses where they have submitted evidence of learning but have not demonstrated proficiency in their learning to result in a grade of A, B, C, or D. Students who end Trimester 2 with a grade of NY will continue with the learning in trimester 3 to acquire the academic outcomes until they demonstrate proficiency on course learning outcomes that result in a grade of A, B, C, or D.
- Students will receive a grade of NE (No Evidence) for any courses where they have submitted no or limited evidence of learning in Trimester 2. Students who end Trimester 2 with a grade of NE will continue with the learning in trimester 3 to acquire the academic outcomes until they demonstrate proficiency on course learning outcomes that result in a grade of A, B, C, or D.
With the start of final trimester of the school year, we want to end the school year on a high note. A few things that students and families can do to help the trimester go as smoothly as possible:
- Attend all live sessions each day.
- Reach out to the teacher right away if you are not understanding the material.
- Sit down weekly as a family to review Schoology – assignments and progress in learning.
- Set time aside daily to complete assignments from the day.
- Reach out to Mr. Luecke if you need help with organization, goal setting, etc.
Every year as we roll into the final trimester, it also means that MCA testing is right around the corner. Our online students will test on April 21. Students will take the Reading test in the morning. There will be a break for lunch and time to relax. Then, students take the Math test in the afternoon. If a student needs transportation to or from school, they will be able to ride a middle school bus. If you have any questions about testing, please call us at 763-600-5300 and ask for Jacqui Smith or Tyler Nelson.
We are looking forward to a great final trimester of the year and ending the 2021-22 school year on a high note. As always, if there is something you need, please do not hesitate to reach out.
