Habitat
These endangered animals can be found in heavy rain forests such as Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In these places, there is enough resources for them to have a life expectancy of about 35 years. The number of members in their family is the smallest compared to all the other gorilla families. They have about 4-8 members in each family. Even though they can climb trees, they are usually found on ground level.
Characteristics
If you were to see these animals, they would appear smaller than mountain gorillas but with shorter hair and long arms. Compared to a human, the height of an average Western Lowland Gorilla is about 6 feet tall.
