Parent Resource from TAGT - Fostering Confidence and Self-Worth: Activities for Young Children

TAGT (Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented) publishes a weekly digital newsletter, Pulse, to its membership. As we receive and review these newsletters, we will curate resources that may be valuable for our community. This month, the article and activity guide for young children seems especially timely given the upcoming holiday breaks.

Article Snapshot: "As parents, teachers, or caretakers of young children, we all want to find the most effective ways to promote and foster children’s sense of well-being and confidence and to help them see the good and inherent value in those around them."

Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP in FBISD) - November Happenings

In October, students conferenced with teachers about their research plan, and student work should be underway over the next few months. It should be noted that the TPSP is a research endeavor to be pursued at school for the required grade levels (grades 1-7); therefore, the majority of the work is expected to be completed at school, not at home. Students in grades 8-12 have the option of participating in TPSP, and a GT teacher will support their endeavors outside of the regular school day. We are looking forward to seeing the student projects in the campus showcases in the spring! Check campus web pages for campus-specific showcase dates in the early spring.

GT Learning Plan - November

The first two weeks of November will include a goals progress check. Parents will be provided a collaboration opportunity through a method determined by the campus: parent/teacher conferences, phone, email, or hard document. The first GTLP progress report will be posted in Skyward the week of November 14.
