Second Semester Started Strong!
It is wonderful to have our students back in the building after our Winter Break! Students have happily transitioned back into our building and classroom routines. Thank you to all of our families for continuing to monitor your child's health during this time. Our building is able to continue educating students face to face because of your diligence in keeping your family and our school family safe. Let's have a safe and productive 2nd Semester
No School January 18th
Just a friendly reminder that there will be no school on Monday, Jan. 18th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. School will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 19th.
Congratulations To Our December Students Of The Month!
This Wednesday Is A Late Start!
Conduct Daily Health Screenings
In accordance with Board of Education policies, our Return to Learn plans and direction from local, state and federal health officials, if your student has any of the following symptoms, you must keep them home from school!
- temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
- sore throat
- an uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing
- the onset of a severe headache
- diarrhea and/or vomiting
- unusual belly pain
- new loss of taste or smell
IMPORTANT: Based on Board policies and written guidance from local, state and federal health officials, in order for your child to return to school after experiencing one or more of the above symptoms a parent/guardian must provide a negative COVID-19 test result or a doctor’s note releasing the student to attend school. If you do not provide a negative COVID-19 test result or doctor’s note, then your student will be excluded from Coloma Community Schools for ten (10) days from the first day they had symptoms. They must also be fever free for 24 hours and/or their symptoms have improved after the ten (10) day exclusion period before they can return.
Outdoor Recess
As the weather gets colder, please remember that we still have outdoor recess. Students should come to school prepared with warmer clothing and winter gear. We don't want anyone to be cold when they are outside getting some fresh air!
Birthday Treats
We love to celebrate our students' birthdays and we love treats! Please only bring in treats that are store bought and individually wrapped. Store bought cupcakes and cookies are awesome! But, please make sure they are individually wrapped. We are seeing some treats come into the building that are store bought, but NOT individually wrapped.
Mask Reminder
We issued each child 2 masks on their first day of school this year. We have also provided additional masks as needed both cloth and paper. It is important that your child is bringing a mask every day just like their usual school supplies.
