Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

It has been great to see your children back in action this week. We really do miss the hustle and bustle when we are out for so many days. We have 14 critical days left for learning. Our teachers must keep up with pacing guides and getting curriculum covered in a timely manner. Each and every day your child comes to school is important, so please send them to us!

Times for class holiday parties have been announced and are listed here below. Please make plans to join us if you can! The Baptist Church across the street generously offers overflow parking for most of our special events. However, the church preschool will also be having celebrations during the week of our parties. Please be aware that there may be limited parking available at the church for 5th, 2nd, K, and 4th grades on the 19th and 20th. On the 21st, there will be plenty of room for 1st grade parents to park at the church for the 8 am party but please plan to leave by 10 am to make room for the church preschool parents. 3rd grade parents coming to the 1:20 pm party are welcome to park at the church in any available spot but parking may be limited. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

There are many other fun family events coming up in the month of December that I hope you will mark on your calendars as well. These can be found in my newsletter. I say each year my favorite gift to receive would be holiday cards from our families. These are just priceless, so keep them coming! I hope you enjoy the first weekend of December! Finally, I think the weather is catching up to the season of winter. I will be in sunny Orlando cheering on the Tigers in the ACC Championship. If you are looking for something fun to do, take the family to cheer on the Roswell Hornets tonight at Lakewood Stadium. Both teams made it to the semi-finals! Believe it or not, we have some Hornet fans here in Milton. We wish them the best of luck!

Students Celebrate Perfect Attendance

CCES had its first celebration of three months of perfect attendance with a special movie before the break (see below). Over three hundred students did not miss a single day from the first day of school till the end of October. When asked how they did it, we heard, “I ate my vegetables”, “I got a flu shot” and one said, “Well …my mom makes me”. Great job, kids and parents! We know it took a team effort. Remember, every quarter is a new opportunity. Get to bed on time, wash those hands, and if you have appointments or trips, remember the 11:00 rule. Try to get to school before 11 or leave after 11 so you are counted as present. Congratulations!
