Red Clay's 1st Annual Block Party - September 10th at Stanton Middle School - 10:00-1:00pm
Looking for a Parent Representative to join RCPAC - Red Clay Parent Advisory Council
Red Clay Consolidated primarily supports the involvement of parents and concerned community members including historically underrepresented groups as active participants in the school improvement process through regularly scheduled monthly meetings of the Red Clay Parent Advisory Council. (RCPAC). The RCPAC is comprised of at least two parent representatives from each school. In addition, Red Clay staff, Red Clay board members and members of the Red Clay community serve as members of the RCPAC working cooperatively and collaboratively with parents. The executive board includes the offices of president, vice-president, and secretary. Each month, the RCPAC meets at schools across the district to provide a regular opportunity for collaboration, training, and information sharing among parents, community members, school board members, and school and district staff. After each meeting, members are encouraged to share the information with members of the school PTA, PTO and other school support associations and school administrators.
If you are interested, please call Ann Marie Swift at 302-454-8520 ext 417 or email ann.swift@redclay.k12.de.us

POLICY ON CLASSROOM SNACKS AND CELEBRATIONS
Classroom Snacks: One of our school goals is healthy nutrition for Forest Oak students and staff. We want to provide our students with healthy food choices for classroom activities and would like your support toward this goal. Because of life threatening allergies, we request NO NUTS in any product for classroom activities. Also, all food products distributed or sold in school during regular school hours are required to have a commercial ingredient label for allergen identification. This means NO HOMEMADE FOOD can be brought to school to share with classmates for celebrations, rewards, etc. We are strongly recommending that only healthy snacks are served in our classrooms.
Classroom Celebrations: Most grade levels at Forest Oak Elementary School celebrate the holidays with classroom parties three or four times during the school year: Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and end of the school year. If a child may not participate in these activities due to religious or personal beliefs, parents should inform the classroom teacher, so that alternative activities can be planned for your child.
If you are going to send in food items for a classroom party, the new district policy requires all food to have an ingredient label (no homemade food items). We encourage parents to send in healthy snacks.
