Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year
FAFSA/Financial Aid Information Night for Seniors & Families
The GHS Counseling Department is hosting a financial aid information meeting on September 17, 7 pm, in the new addition to the GHS Cafeteria/Commons. A financial aid representative from an area college will be explaining the process of applying for federal financial aid. Come learn the details of this important process with the opportunity to ask questions afterward. Both students and parents are encouraged to attend!

ACT/SAT
College Admissions Exams
Is your student planning on taking or re-taking the ACT/SAT for college admissions and/or scholarship consideration? Below are the 2018-19 national test dates for each test:
Academic and Career Planning (ACP)
Seniors will be meeting with counselors in September-October to discuss college/career plans for next year.
Juniors will meet with counselors for Individual ACP Junior Conferences during second quarter. Parents are invited to these meetings. Counselors will also meet with juniors to schedule for the 2019-20 school year.
Sophomores will meet with counselors to schedule for the 2019-20 school year in January. Also, an ACP Sophomore Career unit will be held in the spring.
Freshmen will have an Introduction to the GHS Counseling Department during American Government classes the week of Sept. 10. The class of 2022 will also have a week-long ACP Unit in December; scheduling meeting for the 2019-20 school year and individual ACP Conferences with students, parents and school counselors in the spring.
Students and parents are always welcome to meet with the school counselors beyond the scheduled meetings listed above. Please contact Mrs. Rieck to schedule an appointment.

REDgen stands for resiliency(R), education(E), and determined(D) to make a difference in the health of a new generation (gen). This organization was founded by parents, educators and community leaders who are "dedicated to advocating for the mental health and well being of all youth."
