Posting Vs. Finalizing
What is the difference?
What is Posting?
Posting is the act of the Teacher of record posting their grades to the grading window.
- During the Progress Report or Report Card grading window, Teachers will have the option to Post their grades.
- When the grading window is open for Teachers to post, it is not a two-way street. The grades exist in the Teacher's gradebook. Posting, is the act of moving those current grade values to the appropriate grading window.
- If changes are made to assignment grades after a Teacher has posted, they will need to repost.
What is Finalizing?
Finalizing is the electronic signature stating that the Teacher has checked their grades for that course/section and they are accurate.
- Teachers should only finalize once.
- Once a Teacher Finalizes, they will not be able to repost. If changes are made, they will need their course/section unfinalized to make the appropriate changes.
- ONLY the Teacher of record can Finalize grades. No one else can finalize for a Teacher.
