The act of attempting to aquire someones personal information such as password, usernames, or credit card details by behaving like a trustworthy company.
Things to look out for:
- not adressing you by your name and instead something inpersonal for example "valued customer"
- Attatchments because they will often hold the thing that will collect your information
- careless use of language or spelling mistakes
- if they say that it is ugent for example that you only have the next 24 hours to act
- false links
