What's Up in 4th Grade!
Don't forget your child needs a total of 90 minutes every week for both iStation and Think Through Math. These are valuable resources that aid your child's learning.
“We are thankful for books and literature! The book fair is coming November 7th-11th to our school and will be held in the Skaggs Library! This is an exciting time for students as they shop the wide selection of books! To help make the book fair successful, please join our volunteering team and sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4dafa923a0fb6-skaggs Thank you- Mrs. Geiler”
We are excited to let you know that our 4th graders will be participating in WordMasters, a national vocabulary challenge offered to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at Skaggs Elementary. The students will compete as a school against other private and public schools across the nation. Individual students with the highest scores will also be recognized.
Students will participate in WordMasters Meets three times during the year where they will be asked to answer analogy questions regarding the given vocabulary. Awards are given to winners at the end of the year.
Our first list of words has been distributed, and our first meet is scheduled for November 30th. Please encourage your child to learn the meanings of these words so they will be prepared for this competition.

As we continue our scientific journey students will continue adding to their understanding of matter by measuring, comparing, and predicting changes that can occur. Next week our class will be furthering our understanding of how thermal energy affect matter through heating and cooling.
