Tough Times Never Last...Tough Communities Do!
It has been wonderful to see the positive in these difficult times. I am amazed and thankful for the parents, teachers and other professionals who are committed to making each day the best it can be for our families!
What's Different?
- MYS will not be raising fees, In fact, if you participated in 2019-2020, your fees will be lower. See registration page for details.
- If you participated in the Private Lesson Scholarships and/or Service scholarships for fees, you may continue to do so. No reapplication is necessary. Just let us know via email that you would like to continue with the previous arrangements.
- There will be adjustments made for safe distancing for fall auditions.
- Division 1 fees are significantly lower - no Fall Retreat - looking into the Spring for possibilities.
- Guitar Ensembles Season 1 - wooo hooo
A few updates:
MYS ROCKS: Thank you so much for dropping off your painted rocks. They are being sealed and I can't wait to put them out :) There are plenty of river rocks for everyone - feel free to pick one up - get creative - and then bring it back to us <3
PARENT/BOARD UPDATE: This Thursday I will be sending out our Annual state of the MYS information. This will include a review of the season; financial information (current and forecast); program offerings (current and future).
BOARD PARTICIPATION FOR SEASON 39: If you are interested in participating on our Board for next season, please contact Rae Wodarcyk, President. Our slate of officers is coming together and we will be voting soon.
This amazing group of individuals is such a source of support, resources and a strong voice on behalf of your children. I would encourage you to take the time to get involved. The board meets monthly.
CARNEGIE: I continue to stay involved in the "refund process," with EPT and with MCI. As with all travel companies that are handling combined funds, it is in flux. The good news lately (if you want to call it that) is that the Broadways shows are down through June 7. That means that we will also be getting our Broadway ticket refunds. Still waiting to hear of a better timeline than last reported ("No later than sixty days after scheduled travel.") as well as updated amounts.
