Winter Quarter Starts Monday

Welcome to a new year, new quarter, and new newsletter! Every couple of weeks all of the Flint and Cass City faculty will receive this newsletter. This will focus on sharing information from the campus, like training and updates, as well as highlighting faculty achievements.

Get Prepped for Winter- Training this week!

Monday 1/4- Distance Learning Training - DL Faculty Only- Flint- 6pm

Tuesday 1/5 - Blackboard Refresh - Cass City - 5:30pm

Thursday 1/7 - Blackboard Refresh Drop-In as needed – Flint (Faculty Offices) - 4-6:30pm

Saturday 1/9- Blackboard Refresh – CTT faculty only – 9am

The final First Year Faculty Experience is happening now. Email ASAP to enroll.

Monday 1/25 - Alternate uses for the Discussion Board (advanced) – Online* - 5:30pm

Topics included but not limited to:

  • Having students create images, infographics
  • Embedding video to start a discussion
  • Students submitting audio or video responses and presentations
  • Examples provided

Monday 2/8 - Google Apps for Education – Flint - 5:30pm

  • Docs for peer review and collaboration
  • Slides for presentations
  • Forms for data collection and analysis
  • Sites for information gathering
  • Hangouts for office hours

Thursday 2/25 - Gamification Concepts and Application – Online* - 5:30pm

  • Learn to apply game elements to encourage engagement

*All Online trainings will use WebEx and be recorded
