MAT Parent Survey

The MAT parent survey will close on Monday. You still have time to complete it if you have not yet done so -

Snacks & Packed Lunches.

Please can we remind you that the children must only bring healthy foods into school for playtime snacks. Snacks are an important part of the diet of young people and can contribute positively towards learning. We permit fruit, vegetable or cheese-based snacks at break times. These may include seeds or nuts as long as there are no pupils with nut allergies in the class. We discourage the consumption of snacks high in fat and sugar at break-time. Advice on this standard is available from the Children’s Food Trust In addition, we encourage you to provide children with packed lunches that complement the Government Food Lunch Standards. Children should not bring chocolate as part of their packed lunch. They are able to bring juice or flavoured drinks to have at lunchtime, but not fizzy drinks.Further advice including a guide to producing a packed lunch can be found on the following websites:-

Thermal Imaging Camera.

Our Eco Warriors used a thermal imaging camera this week to find where draughts are getting into school. We were pleased to see that the new windows that we have fitted are much more efficient than the older wooden frames.

Learning Review Day - 9.3.22

On Wednesday 9th March we will have our Learning Review Day. The school will be closed for normal lessons all day as this is one of our allocated training days. Instead, we will have consultation meetings throughout the day. We hope to be able to invite you into school to have the meetings in person, and children in KS2 will also be able to attend. Timetabled appointments will be available to book soon.

PTA Meeting 8.2.22

The next PTA meeting is on 8th February, 7.30pm at school. Please come along, it would be lovely to see some new faces. We really appreciate your support.

Send a shout out to a member of staff.

This is to recognise staff who have done something great. We want to recognise the achievement of all our staff so please help up to pass on your nice comments and thanks.

Pupil Absence Requests

This form should be completed by the parent/carer and returned to the school as far in advance as possible and preferably preferably with sufficient notice before the first intended day of absence.

The DfE regulations for attendance state that leave of absence during term-time should not be granted by schools unless there are ‘exceptional circumstances.’ Parents/carers must obtain the school’s permission before making any arrangements for leave in exceptional circumstances, otherwise the absence will be recorded as unauthorised and may result in a penalty notice being served.

Parent Volunteers

We hope to be able to welcome volunteers into school very soon. However, any previous DBS check will have now expired and will need to be renewed. If you would like to volunteer to help in school on a regular basis in future, please contact the office so that we can begin the process in applying for a new DBS. You will need to bring in some ID, a current passport, driving licence and utility bill issued within the last 3 months. We will also need 2 character references so please also provide the names and email addresses of 2 people who could provide this for you. Thank you for your continued support.
