News from CPE
Dear CPE Families,
We are very excited to have students return to campus. As you have seen in the district communication, we will begin bringing students back on March 22nd. ALL Kindergarten - 2nd grade classes will shuffle on March 22nd based on whether or not your student is staying remote or hybrid. You will get an email from the school THIS WEDNESDAY by 3:00 pm letting you know your students' teacher, and whether they are on the Hybrid A (Monday and Thursdays), Hybrid B (Tuesdays and Fridays) or completely remote schedule. If your child is staying remote and their current teacher is remote, they will not switch teachers. Similarly, if your student is coming in-person and so is their teacher, they will not switch teachers. To find out more about in-person learning or the transition process come to our family Back to School Night next Monday, March 15th. (link below)

Incoming Kindergarten Families:
We are pleased to announce that our school has been selected to offer a premium dual language program for incoming kindergarten students, beginning next school year (2021-22)! This will be an extraordinary K-12 educational opportunity for all future CPE students to become bilingual and biliterate in both English and Spanish, with high levels of academic achievement through instruction in both languages.

Attendance/Truancy Information
Attendance and Truancy during COVID-Attendance Matters
Schools are taking attendance during remote learning and marking absences as excused or unexcused. Contact the school if your child participated in remote learning, even if it wasn’t a live class, and you don’t think the school knows. If your child was not able to participate because of COVID-related problems, contact the school to excuse their absences. It is important that you communicate with your teacher and your school to get the support you need.
School Attendance line 425-431-3919 call to report your student absent. If you know your child will be absent, please call and leave a message. Our registrar checks messages everyday. You can also let the teacher know about your child being absent.

Natural Leaders Bi-Weekly Meetings on Wednesdays
Natural Leaders serve as multi-cultural bridges between students, families, communities, and schools. Research has consistently shown students’ success to be highly correlated with the level of their parent engagement. When parents are involved, students achieve more, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnic/racial background, or the parents’ education level.
Every meeting has different topics and we’ll have many opportunities to learn together. For more information please contact Carmen Ziranda 425-431-2420 or fill out the form below to receive a calendar with the dates and times.
Next Meeting: March 10th, the topic is: Highly Capable Family Information Presentation at 11:00 am, presented by Kim Hunter it will include a session for Q&A.

Coronavirus Pandemic EBT (P-EBT)
Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) for the 2021 federal fiscal year. OSPI Child Nutrition Services is awaiting details on who will be eligible for benefits and how to implement the updated P-EBT program.
One thing we know for sure is that the Pandemic P-EBT will be issued for families who qualify for free and reduced meals. If families have not yet submitted an application for this school year but would qualify, the sooner they get the application in the more months they will qualify for Pandemic EBT funds.
It is imperative for families to make sure they have the correct mailing address with the school because checks will be auto issued this time to qualifying families at their address in skyward. If you have any questions please contact your school Family Resource Advocate.
