Did you know that an Emu's feathers change from light to dark depending of its mood? It's kind of like a mood ring!
Appearance & Classification
The Emu has a strange appearance. The Emu's size is 5 feet to 6 feet tall. An Emu's weight is 40 pounds to 132 pounds. WOW! An emu's colors are grey, black and brown. The males have a blue neck. An Emu's skin cover is nice fluffy feathers. An Emu has very long legs and can run up to 40 miles an hour. That's fast! The Emu is a bird but it can't fly. That's weird!
Habitat Information
Predator & Prey
Even an emu has enemies! An Emu's enemies are humans, wild dogs and birds of prey. It protects itself by out running its enemies. I wouldn't want to eat what an Emu eats! The Emu eats fruity seeds, incects and flowers. It finds its food around the grasslands. An Emu is an omnivore. Do you know what an omnivore is? An omnivore is a meat and plant eater.
The Emu is an amazing animal!
