The Preschool Press
October 7, 2019
From the Director's Desk
Please mark your calendars for October 17th and 18th. There will be no school for fall break.
Stewardship Renewal
https://www.christthekingcatholic.church/stewardship
There are also hard copies in the church and school offices. Stewardship commitments are renewed annually and are part of the criteria for receiving parishioner tuition. All families hoping to receive parishioner tuition next year must complete a new stewardship commitment.

Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat is a beloved Marquette tradition, where parents decorate and open their trunks to the cutest trick-or-treaters around! It’s a great way to see friends and trick or treat in a safe environment.
Trunk or Treat will be Sunday October 27, from 1-3 p.m.
There will be bounce houses, face painters, balloon makers, RUB BBQ Food Truck, popcorn and lots of fun and games!
We are looking for 34 trunks this year. If you are interested in doing a trunk: Trunk set up starts at 12 and you must stay until 3:30 that day. Each trunk should be decorated (to what extent is up to you) and should provide plenty of candy for trick-or-treaters. We recommend at least 10 large bags of candy. Please also let us know if you need electricity – we must know ahead of time!
For Trunk sign-up, volunteer opportunities and donations sign up here:

Holy Smokes Dinner
Please plan to join us on Thursday, October 10th, 2019 at the Rucker Warehouse (1227 S Detroit), for the 23rd annual Holy Smokes Cigar Dinner.
Those of you who have attended in the past know it’s a gentlemen’s evening with a great steak dinner, an assortment of fine cigars, and a complimentary bar benefiting the Christ the King Education Endowment Fund, honoring Mark Mandeville. Our evening will begin at 6:30 and dinner will be served around 7:30.
Registration is LIVE! Visit https://ctkcigardinner.com/ to RSVP!
With the website, you can register and pay directly to Christ The King on the website linked above.
A confirmation email will then be sent subsequently to your registration and/or payment (be sure to check your spam).
NOTE: You must register your table beginning TODAY to secure a table for this year; registrations already done on last year’s page will not be accounted for.
Corporate sponsors may purchase an 8-man table for $1,000 or a 4-man table for $500. Premium Sponsorships are available for $1,500 which will include preferred seating and a Holy Smokes humidor with additional premium cigars for you and your guests. There are only 20 Premium Sponsorships available on a first come, first serve basis. Additionally, individual tickets are available for $150.
This is the event’s 24th year! We need your help for a continued push in targeted funds raised for the Marquette School Endowment Fund! The dinner has a capacity of approximately 450 men and a sellout is expected, so register ASAP!
Additional Sponsor Opportunities
If you are interested in additional sponsorship opportunities please let us know. We welcome anyone who would like to donate an item to the auction or raffle. Let any of us know if you are interested!
Thank you again for your consideration and we are looking forward to seeing you and your guests on October 10th.
SCRIP
Marquette is part of an exciting fundraising program called Scrip. This year-round fundraiser is easy to use and has the potential to earn a lot of money for our great school! Scrip allows registered users to buy gift cards from hundreds of retailers with a percentage of each sale going back to Marquette.
Scrip is another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. Examples of participating brands are Target, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Dillards, Macys, Gap, Uber, Zappos, Walmart, Sams Club, CVS, Walgreens, Panera, Lands' End, Home Depot, Papa John's, PetSmart, and 100s of others!
Families may register to buy cards online. Simply go to www.ShopWithScrip.com and register your family. Or use www.myscripwallet.com to download Scrip on your phone. Use the following enrollment code for Marquette:
61EC498C54L17
Once registered, you can choose from any of the participating retailers. Gift cards will be sent to school for pick up, or can be sent directly to your email via ScripNow where you'll be able to print and use immediately. If you're using MyScripWallet, you'll be able to buy gift cards on your phone and scan immediately at the store!
We can earn hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for Marquette, just by thinking ahead and ordering cards before we shop. If you need help getting started or have any question, please contact your coordinator, Chrissie Gipson. Thank you!

Box Tops
Box Tops will be collected from the turn-in boxes on Wednesday, 16 October! Please get any Box Tops you have collected turned in before then.
A few quick notes:
-Please be sure to check the expiration date on the Box Tops. Any expired Box Tops do NOT get counted toward our earnings.
-Separate Box Tops into groups of 50 if you have that many. If not, please include the total number of Box Tops collected. This will greatly help with counting!
-You can always turn in Box Tops at ANY time during the school year. They will be collected from the turn-in boxes and sent off twice a year; once in October and again in February. The collections dates will always be announced in advance. Any turned in after the collection date are counted toward the the next turn-in.
-There is now an app for this! If you have see a Box Top that states "Scan your receipt", all you do is download the app, create a sign in however you wish, select Marquette School, and scan the receipt. No need to clip, to count, to bag, to turn in. And you can see just how much money the school has earned!
