*When students are not outdoors for field day stations, they will be with their classroom teachers inside for fun activities and at lunch with their class. Teachers will send out information for their group.
Important Reminders:
*Wear athletic shoes with socks and comfortable clothing
*Wear sunscreen, hat, and/or sunglasses
*Bring a bottled water

Our focus for field day is to build TEAM within their class and what it looks like and sounds like to have a good attitude and have good sportsmanship. We will cheer each other on, win/lose gracefully, and choose a positive attitude. With only 12.5 days left of school, we want to get the most enjoyment out of our time together! Our students are an amazing model for these things! WE ARE … BOBCATS!!
If you are interested in volunteering at our Field Day, we would greatly appreciate it! Please see needs in the Sign Up Genius link below.

You are invited to join us in collecting our favorite memories from our inaugural year, adding them to our time capsule, and sealing them away until our 10 Year Birthday Celebration in May 2026!
On Monday, May 15th and Tuesday, May 16th, our time capsule will be open in the library for submissions. There are two ways you can participate:
1. Send your child with a picture, note, or letter of a favorite memory. Children will add the item with their class to the time capsule on Monday or Tuesday. Classes will be creating something to add as a class too. “Small” is key so it all fits!
2. You may bring a favorite memory you have and add it to the time capsule as well! Please note that teachers will be censoring what students add.
Bell staff will add our memories at a staff gathering Tuesday afternoon and seal it tight!
Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast - May 22 - 8:45 AM
On behalf of the staff and students of Bell Elementary, we would like to say THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers who have added so much to our year. From unpacking boxes to special events - mentoring, cutting, laminating, door decorating, fundraising, assisting on field trips - there's one thing for sure...Bell Elementary would not be the same without you!
We invite you to a breakfast in the Bell Elementary cafeteria on May 22nd from 8:45 AM - 9:45 AM. All you have to do is sign in at the front office for a Visitor's Badge and let us do the rest. Come hungry!
Please RSVP on the form your child took home this week or to mknott@dentonisd.org
We can't wait to see you there!
Attitude
Bell Elementary students are learning that leaders have positive attitudes - about themselves, about others, and about new learning and the challenges that come with new learning.
This month we are focusing on the character trait of attitude with our students. Each day on announcements we talk about how attitude is key for success.
Some of the quotes we use to help spring conversation include:
"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." - Winston Churchill
"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude."
- Maya Angelou
"Your attitude towards failure determines your altitude after failure." - John C. Maxwell
"A healthy attitude is contagious, but don't wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier."
- Tom Stoppard
