Dear Lawrence Brook Elementary School Families:

It was wonderful welcoming students back to school today after the long weekend! Looking ahead, as temperatures get colder, please be sure to send your child to school with weather appropriate attire. As a general rule, we will continue to have outdoor recess as long as the wind chill temperature is above 32 degrees.

This evening, I hope you will consider joining us for our PTA meeting in the Media Center at 7:00 PM. Our dedicated PTA volunteers have been hard at work planning for many upcoming events, including the annual Tricky Tray this Sunday. All are welcome to attend the meeting this evening.

In addition to being the date of our PTA Tricky Tray, Sunday, November 20 will begin the FIFA World Cup. Held every four years, this is the most-watched sporting event in the world. This year, students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade will participate in district-wide social studies lessons inspired by the World Cup in order to learn about sports, history, geography, languages, and other countries. Monday, November 21 will be a Spirit Day where students will be invited to wear a favorite soccer jersey or Red, White and Blue to support Team USA.
