Paraprofessional Week
Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed the week of January 22-16, 2018, as Paraprofessional Recognition Week. We'll celebrate our paraprofessionals in May during Employee Appreciation week, but we want Laura Arndt, Abbie Beekman, Chantele Burgess, Nancy Galbreath, Diane Gray, Lynn Hunstad, Marsha Jenne, Jenny Johnson, Karen Johnson, Lorrie Khan, Karen Loyd, Jamie Martin, Khadro Mohamed, Maddie Morrow, Ann Nasses, Dana O'Brien, Elizabeth Patza, Joanne Robinson, Jessica Rooney, Anna St. Andrew, Andrea Swenson, Gina Valentini, Mary Wheeland, and Beth Zeitz to know how much we appreciate all they do for us and our students and families.
Apex Fun Run
Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm during the Apex Fun Run Fundraiser. The big event is this Friday so let's do what we can to support this activity, the only fundraiser our PTO is promoting this year!
Citizens of the Month
Thank you for identifying your December Citizens of the Month. We will be celebrating them this Wednesday at 3:15. I'll be taking photos and sending home invitations this afternoon.
Coffee with Early Childhood Parents
This week, the Hopkins Early Childhood Programs are hosting coffee in the lobby with elementary principals at Harley Hopkins Family Center. This is a district strategy to answer parents' questions and encourage families to enroll in our schools. I will start my day this week on Tuesday and Thursday meeting and greeting parents and answering any questions they have.
Good News Call Of The Day
So far this school year, I have made positive phone calls for 73 different students. Most calls were about something I observed, heard, or experienced. I am happy to make calls for students recommended by you. I have recommendation forms on my door for anyone to complete and share. My practice is to only make one call for a student each year so I can spread the positive news. Here are some of the recent Good News Call of the Day recipients.
