Some notes from idea to event:
Form your team At first think what kind of project group you want o create. What are the key requirements and competences that are needed? There were double amount applicants than places so this group was a mix of experience of IOD events, marketing. leadership and fasilitation. From learned in practice, give precise targets and all information you have. Form discussion channels that are available from the beginning till to end. | Systemic thinking and service design IOD Day is not just event. It relates to bigger picture to matchmake university partners and customers with students. It's not just make "case-project"... It's for to help customer, show your talent and compete! Think and design service paths from customer and participant point of views! Plans should be visible and meet the targets. If you don't know where to aim then you don't know how to coach other into success. Meet your project group regularly and everytime to make the progress visible. | Take care about the WOW effects We all know the business that creates experience are the winning the heart of customer. Also the company that has learning capabilities e.g. learn fast from fail, is a winning format. In the heart of creating experience is the knowledge about customer. Small things will make a big difference - so WOW-elements should be found from parameters: education, entertainment, escapism and estetics. |

Make changes if needed Plans usually are optimistic views about the reality. This means that you need to follow-up the progress closely and make decisions if it's needs to be changed. Changes should be aligned with the targets. If you change is not going to affect the results then it's done in vain. Give power to those who are in the interface with real customers! | Enjoy the doing! To gain the results and compete should be fun. Of course you need to maintain professional aspect but you can not forget fun-part. Worklife and working in team is the best when there is a flow. Prepare you fasilitators and main project group to build the flow state-of-feeling. | Evaluate the whole process Actual event is only a one part of the whole process. Make motorlas from the event and from the whole process. Remember to collect the results and feedbacks from companies and competitors. |
