Springville Public Library loves local artist Janice Leeman
Janice began sewing with her mother when she was around five years old. She remembers sewing clothes for her Barbie dolls on "her own hand operated sewing machine." Janice went on to sew clothes for her children and then later began to incorporate fabrics she created into different types of functional art. She experimented with vintage aprons, scrap quilts, and jewelry. This month, the library will be home to a display of Janice's favorite creations, her dolls. Janice uses vintage fabrics and buttons to create whimsical groups of dolls for the holidays. Her use of fabric combinations make each doll uniquely expressive.
These little dolls
are perfect for fall! Visit your library this October and see all of local artist Janice Leeman's holiday dolls.
